Jorge Luis Borges’s poetic story ‘The Circular Ruins’, its spirit and its central idea, is the substance of the production. The production explores the intersection of the various realities that make up our world and the magical practices found in the cultures of different peoples, which bind these realities together. Thus, the creators seek the intersection of South American cultures with their ancient magical practice of dreamwork, the culture of Tuva’s shamans, who turn to a parallel reality, and the European cultural tradition, where mysticism is concealed beneath the veil of everyday objects. Musically, the authors follow the same principle, linking the contemporary music of John Zorn and Sainho Namchylak with traditional Tuvan music.

The ‘Art-Residence’ International Culture Project is a space that brings together several art forms:
  • Visual arts
  • Music
  • Dance
As part of the ‘Art-Residence’ International Culture Project, artists, choreographers and musicians from various disciplines, from Russia and other countries, can meet, exchange experiences, work together and present joint ideas that lie at the intersection of different art forms.

Our aim is to bring together the concepts of artists working within both the same and different genres, and to identify the common thread that unites them.
