Sculpture, concept Konstantin Grouss Performers, models Konstantin Grouss, Misha Humm
This work is created from metal, but it is based on the principles used in choreography composition.
The work brings together two durations: the brief time of the performers and the extended material time of a metal sculpture made from elements that had previously covered the building’s roof. The differing forms of the figures emphasise the contrasting characters and movement qualities of the original performers.
The work was created in collaboration with Misha Humm for the "Horizontal" exhibition within 6-th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, September 2015.
Sculpture
Dance in dynamic immobility Sculpture is a logical continuation of the dance, the opportunity to give it existence in another time and dimension. In my concept of work with a static form, the kinetic component is important. It gives a feeling of variability and relation to the current moment.
